Kemmery Custom Shop Guitars is a small company formed on the concept that high quality, American made, custom guitars could be made at a price that the average American working musician as well as hobbyists and enthusiasts could afford.
I decided to start the company when looking to upgrade my guitars with high-quality replacement parts, I realized I could build a top-quality instrument for what it would cost to buy a new off-the-shelf mid-quality guitar. I believe this is due to 2 main factors: percieved brand value, and overhead costs. Guitarists have come to believe that a great guitar needs to have an "F" word, or a "G" word, "P" initials on the headstock. So much so, that many major companies imported "value" guitars, made with low-quality components command values close to, or exceeding what I can build a high quality custom guitar using top-shelf components for. I'm a one-man company, working from my home workshop, I don't have payroll to pay, or overhead costs to pass along to my customers, so I can make a guitar for not much more than it would cost to buy the components.
I also believe that a company should stand behind it's products. I'm not out to screw anyone over, or make a quick buck. I intend to build a company based on pleasing the customer. After all, if you're willing to spend your hard-earned money on my product, the least I can do is stand behind what I sell. PHILOSOPHY:
In the first place, guitars need to play good and sound good, as well as provide long lasting reliable service. We build our guitars to be something a working musician, or avid player can rely on to meet his or her demands, time in and time out. That's why we never use "economy" or "budget" parts of any kind in the instruments we build. We keep the prices reasonable by using off-the-shelf high-quality parts, rather than "hand building" every major component. If you are interested in truly hand-built guitar, We can provide you with links to luthiers who do build these types of instruments - we highly respect what they do, but are put-off by other builders who DO use the same parts we do, but sell their instruments as "hand made", and charge the same type outrageous of permium. (However, luthiers who do build by hand must charge prices put thier instruments out-of-reach for most guitarists) The purpose of Kemmery Custom Shop is to provide a custom alternative to the "big three" at competitive prices. For us it's all about value for the money. That, in a nutshell is the driving force of this company.
